Overview

In this Senior Mechanical Engineer role, you will lead the development of mechanical building systems for diverse, high-profile projects in London and beyond. You’ll work closely with architects and other engineers to shape building form, energy strategy, and sustainability outcomes. You’ll operate within a collaborative, design-led Building Engineering team, taking design responsibility from concept through to handover. The position offers exposure to iconic projects and opportunities to develop leadership and technical excellence in low-energy design.

Responsibilities

  • Steer the sustainable outcome of projects in collaboration with architects and other team members
  • Lead and coordinate mechanical design concepts emphasizing low-energy, natural ventilation, and zero-carbon strategies
  • Manage production of models, drawings, reports and specifications
  • Coordinate multi-discipline design work and oversee junior engineers
  • Mentor junior colleagues and support ongoing professional development
  • Nurture client and collaborator relationships
  • Support project leadership to advance to leading projects and teams

Key requirements

  • Experience in mechanical building services design
  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering; Masters preferred; chartered or working toward chartership
  • Willingness to develop analytical approaches to energy usage and related parameters
  • Experience with thermal modelling and building energy modelling software (IES, TAS, EnergyPlus, Design Builder)
  • Experience leading design elements and coordinating small engineering teams
