Overview

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services for complex UK and international projects. You will shape system strategies from inception to completion and drive sustainable, energy-efficient design. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate and integrate building services within broader schemes. Responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery of mechanical building services across complex projects
  • Develop mechanical system strategies and guide design decisions from inception to completion
  • Direct comfort and thermal analysis for buildings and occupied spaces
  • Supervise spatial and technical coordination and integration of building services
  • Manage production of models, drawings, reports and specifications to budgets and deadlines
  • Coordinate the work of colleagues, external disciplines, and in-house specialists
  • Support sustainable building design, including energy efficiency and decarbonisation strategies
  • Provide guidance, training and feedback to support the development of others

Key requirements

  • Chartered Engineer status with relevant experience in mechanical or building services engineering
  • Strong mechanical design and technical delivery skills
  • Experience working in multi-professional design teams
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical systems, installations and project sectors including rail/infrastructure
  • Experience leading energy modelling, ideally with IES
  • Knowledge of sustainable building design, energy performance and retrofit solutions
  • Creative, inquisitive approach with interest in cross-disciplinary integration
  • Strong commercial awareness including resource planning and financial management
  • Interest in digital tools to improve engineering workflows
  • Excellent communication, coordination, leadership and problem-solving skills
