Overview

In this role you will develop and execute marketing procurement strategies to optimise spend and drive value. You will partner with senior stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Legal and Procurement, providing commercial leadership and shaping business decisions. You will lead a procurement team focused on collaboration, continuous improvement and commercial excellence. This is a strategic, high-impact position that shapes marketing supplier relationships and contributes to a transformation of the procurement function.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term category strategies across the Marketing portfolio.
  • Build category plans aligned to business objectives and growth priorities.
  • Identify cost optimisation opportunities and drive supplier performance and innovation.
  • Utilise market intelligence to inform decision-making and promote procurement best practices.
  • Lead complex sourcing programmes and competitive tender exercises.
  • Negotiate high-value contracts and manage commercial agreements.
  • Deliver savings, cost avoidance and value creation opportunities.
  • Establish supplier governance and risk management frameworks.
  • Develop relationships with key marketing agencies and service providers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, development and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to understand priorities and present business cases.

Key requirements

  • Significant experience within Marketing Procurement.
  • Expertise across Marketing categories (Media, Creative Agencies, Production, Print, MarTech, Data or Marketing Services).
  • Proven ability to develop and execute category strategies.
  • Strong track record of delivering commercial value and cost optimisation.
  • Experience leading complex sourcing and supplier management initiatives.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
  • Experience operating within large, complex organisations.
  • Leadership experience including coaching and developing procurement teams.
