Overview
Senior Mechanical Project Engineer within Galliford Try’s Environment Business, delivering wastewater projects for Severn Trent Water. You will support the full project lifecycle from scoping to handover, working with multi-disciplinary teams across sites in the region. You’ll manage design, site activities, permits, and stakeholder engagement to ensure safe, timely delivery. This role offers growth within a leading contractor, with exposure to complex water infrastructure programmes and digital delivery processes.

Responsibilities
- Support the full project lifecycle from planning through construction and handover
- Develop and manage construction-phase operational documentation
- Secure external permits and approvals to commence construction
- Engage and manage subcontractors across investigation, design, and build
- Act as a key liaison between client, third-party stakeholders, and internal teams
- Attend design, progress, and site meetings; monitor progress and costs
- Contribute to financial reporting and programme reviews
- Use Common Data Environments (CDE) to follow delivery processes
- Mentor junior team members and foster collaborative working environment
Key requirements
- Mechanical qualifications
- Understanding of NEC 4 contractual requirements
- Awareness of sustainable development and CDM
- Knowledge of QA and H&S procedures
- Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and manage stakeholders
