Overview

As a Project Manager in MBDA’s Procurement and Supply Chain team, you will steer projects through the full Product lifecycle (CADMID) and help shape a formal PM framework aligned with strategic aims. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery on time, budget and quality, and you will drive improvement across the procurement function. This role combines hands-on project delivery with governance and process development in a high-security defence environment. You’ll be valued for your initiative, collaboration and ability to influence in a matrix organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from initiation to closure, defining approach and strategy under Senior Leadership guidance
  • Support wider procurement & supply chain teams to meet budget, timescale, scope and quality targets
  • Create and maintain project artefacts: Project Plan, Budget Tracker, Line of Balance, Risk Register
  • Engage with internal MBDA teams (Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Planners, Data Analysts, Engineering, Manufacturing)
  • Be the primary procurement partner within the programme team and represent it in reviews
  • Communicate programme status, risks and mitigations to management groups
  • Lead procurement gate-reviews and lifecycle tasks; manage critical supply issues and participate in sector reviews
  • Develop and implement solutions in a matrix organisation with strong communication and influencing skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of procurement core competencies (supplier evaluation, risk assessment, category management, negotiation, risk management)
  • Utilise MS Office with data analysis and presentations; experience with SAP; and familiarity with project tools (MS Project, Primavera)

  • Project management qualifications and experience
