Overview

As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you lead mechanical design for water and wastewater infrastructure, guiding projects from concept to commissioning. You’ll collaborate with electrical, civil, geotechnical, and process teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You engage with clients and mentor engineers to strengthen the team. This role contributes to resilient, low-carbon water solutions that benefit communities and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for water and wastewater infrastructure and related projects across design, construction, commissioning, and handover
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure schedule, budget, and quality targets are met
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop safe, practical solutions
• Engage with clients to manage relationships and promote a one-team approach
• Support development of the mechanical engineering team through coaching and resource planning

Key requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience
• Effective communication with team and stakeholders
• Methodical problem-solving approach
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
