Overview
In this role, you will lead mechanical design across scoping, detailed design and implementation for our water treatment solutions, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current standards. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary in‑house team to develop low‑carbon designs and mentor the next generation of engineers. You’ll collaborate with Delivery Management and clients to define interventions and drive project success. Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to understand intervention needs and translate them into design objectives
- Plan and drive project delivery in collaboration with Delivery Management teams
- Provide technical guidance on mechanical topics to project teams and senior management
- Line manage and develop mechanical engineers within the team
- Lead development of mechanical design deliverables for projects
- Mentor and nurture the next generation of mechanical engineers
- Ensure compliance with client specifications and current regulatory/industry standards
Key requirements
- Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Chartered engineer with a relevant professional body preferred
- Mechanical design engineering experience in municipal water/wastewater treatment
- Design management/lead experience
- Programme/financial management experience
- Experience across all design stages (optioneering/FEED through to construction support and As-Built) desirable
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Full UK Driving Licence
