Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you lead mechanical design for commercial and mixed-use schemes from a central Birmingham office. You’ll manage client relationships and coordinate with MEP engineers and project leads, with Director support for larger projects. The position requires proven design experience and working with clients from inception to completion, contributing to high-profile developments. A strong focus on delivery, collaboration, and technical excellence will drive project success and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead on commercial and mixed-use mechanical design projects
• Manage client relationships throughout project lifecycle
• Coordinate with MEP engineers and project leads for integrated delivery
• liaise with the Director on larger projects as needed
• Support cross-functional collaboration and ensure design quality from inception to completion

Key requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Building Services Design
• Client-facing experience on projects from inception to completion
• Experience on commercial and mixed-use projects
• Degree-level education in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Hospitality projects experience (bonus)
• Experience with Hevacomp
