Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead mechanical design for Renishaw’s AMG, guiding concepts through to finished products. You will work within the Current Product design team to design robust components for additive manufacturing, collaborating with quality, manufacturing and other disciplines. You will tackle prototype development, testing, and data analysis to validate designs and drive improvements. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that fuels a manufacturing revolution in high-precision engineering.

Responsibilities

• 3D design and 2D drawing creation to BS8888
• Develop prototype system components in line with product development requirements
• Develop prototype testing and analysis of data to support the design
• Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve performance issues within timescales
• Work with manufacturing engineers to ensure best practice for manufacture and assembly
• Prepare reports and specifications
• Complete change management requirements for swift introductions

Key requirements

• Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or similar (2:1 or above)
• Ability to demonstrate achievements in the design of machined components and assemblies
• Ability to communicate design solutions to levels suitable for knowledge transfer
• Full and valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other AM division sites across the country for project work
