Overview
In this role, you will act as the primary legal partner for Yondr’s EMEA design, construction and operations teams, supporting the full project lifecycle from development to operations. You will navigate complex procurement, financing and multi-stakeholder arrangements across jurisdictions, ensuring contracts reflect upstream obligations and leasing needs. You will collaborate with delivery, commercial, procurement and operations, driving risk-aware contracting and governance. This is a high-impact position at a fast-growing data center group, offering exposure to diverse projects and a chance to shape contracting strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead legal support for procurement, construction and operation of the EMEA data center portfolio
- Lead and participate in project and commercial meetings; provide practical legal guidance on live matters
- Negotiate and draft key project documents (e.g., Heads of Terms, D&B, consultant appointments, framework agreements)
- Coordinate contractual requirements from investors, lenders, customers and other stakeholders with internal and external counsel
- Support leasing workstreams and ensure construction/operational docs align with leasing obligations
- Develop and implement contracting strategy, standard forms, positions and negotiation playbooks
- Advise on project delivery, contract administration and claims, including variations and notices
- Manage cross-jurisdiction contracts and external counsel; ensure compliance with legal/stakeholder requirements
- Provide day-to-day legal support on commercial, technology, software, confidentiality and intra-group agreements
- Identify and escalate material risks to Legal Director EMEA and VP General Counsel
- Support development of legal processes, governance standards and risk management; drive contract lifecycle automation (Ironclad)
Key requirements
- Qualified solicitor with 6+ years PQE in non-contentious construction, infrastructure, energy or data center projects (preferred)
- Experience negotiating complex procurement and construction agreements; familiarity with FIDIC-based contracting
- Ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects across jurisdictions and coordinate external counsel
- Proven ability to work independently and manage diverse workload under tight deadlines
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- High integrity, professionalism and accountability
- Experience with contract management platforms (e.g., Ironclad) is a plus
