Overview

In this role you will lead procurement delivery for the Sizewell C Major Projects, shaping strategy and supplier engagement to maximise value and ensure compliance with nuclear governance. You will work with cross-functional teams to forecast needs, run market analyses, and manage supplier performance across the life cycle. You’ll develop local, diverse, and SME engagement initiatives while upholding Zero Harm. This is a hands-on, strategic procurement leadership position within a high-stakes, high-impact project.

Responsibilities

  • Implement procurement strategy as directed by the senior procurement manager
  • Deliver project procurement objectives and requirements
  • Support tendering, market analysis, supplier selection, risk and opportunity assessments, forecasting
  • Provide market intelligence, cost advice, and supply chain performance feedback
  • Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals including training, appraisals, and recruitment
  • Ensure ethical, compliant procurement of subcontractors, materials, plant and services
  • Develop project supplier database linked to Compete For with market assessments and prequalification tracking
  • Monitor markets and propose alternative procurement strategies to maximise value or minimise risk
  • Provide management information and reports per project requirements
  • Manage supply chain performance across the work package life cycle
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers and service providers for best value
  • Assist in Local SME engagement strategies and Meet the Buyer events
  • Lead Local Sustainable Procurement Plan development with expert input
  • Maintain relentless focus on Zero Harm

Key requirements

  • Experience of working within the construction industry
  • Ability to manage and structure procurement resources with mixed experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Delivering robust procurement strategies
  • Measured decision-making under tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to deliver demonstrable value through procurement
  • Desirable MCIPS or equivalent construction-focused chartership
  • Industry qualification (Diploma Level 4, HNC, or Degree) would be advantageous
