Overview

In this role you drive business change within large digital Defence transformation programmes. You collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to implement change plans, foster adoption, and align messaging across Defence initiatives. You’ll shape change strategies, run workshops, and mentor junior staff, delivering measurable outcomes for clients. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain business change plans to support Defence digital transformation, coordinating with multiple stakeholders
  • Update change management strategies to reflect programme realities and mitigate risks
  • Perform change assessments (maturity, adoption, load) aligned to as-is and to-be states
  • Create visualisation outputs to communicate impact to diverse stakeholders
  • Collaborate with programme leadership, external partners, and government entities to align change messaging
  • Ensure business change activities align with wider strategic change across Defence
  • Facilitate workshops to generate outputs and drive engagement
  • Develop change-themed communications for various channels
  • Maintain long-term client relationships through regular communication and expectation management
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to junior team members

Key requirements

  • Experience delivering change within digital or large transformation programmes
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships in government/Defence environments
  • Expertise in applying change methodologies and tools
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset across diverse stakeholders
  • Analytical, with risk identification and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work at pace and meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding of human-centric approaches to business change
  • Desirable: prior Defence or similarly complex environments experience
  • Desirable: consulting experience or consortium/blended teams
  • Desirable: change management qualification (e.g., Digital skills, APMG, Prosci)
