Specialty – Credit Control Team Leader

Overview

In this role you lead the Specialty Credit Control function within Sedgwick’s Finance team, guiding a seven-strong team and collaborating with operational and finance leaders. You will drive timely premium and fee collections across the London Market, ensure accurate cash allocation, and uphold governance and regulatory standards. You’ll influence process improvements and automation to build a high-performing credit control function. This is a chance to shape credit control in a growing specialty division and work with senior leaders and brokers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a seven-person Credit Controllers team to deliver strong collection performance
• Oversee premium/fee submissions via the Electronic Claims File (ECF) platform
• Manage outstanding debt and ensure timely settlement and accurate cash allocation
• Maintain relationships with brokers, underwriters, clients and internal stakeholders
• Provide management information on debt positions and performance
• Resolve complex account queries with stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and support automation initiatives
• Help drive operational excellence across the Specialty business

Key requirements

• Team leadership experience
• Credit control and debt management in the insurance sector with London Market knowledge
• ECF systems experience and Lloyd’s market practices understanding
• Stakeholder management with brokers, clients, underwriters and senior leaders
• Compliance awareness with FCA, Lloyd’s and internal governance standards
• Process improvement experience for efficiency, performance, and reporting
• Aviation insurance knowledge is desirable
