As a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering, you will lead BEng(Hons) programmes and contribute to the Construction portfolio, emphasizing both technical and non-technical skills. Responsibilities
- Lead the BEng(Hons) Civil Engineering programme and contribute to Construction portfolio teaching
- Develop and implement innovative, industry-relevant teaching methods
- Attract and retain a diverse student cohort for Level 4 and Level 6 apprenticeships
- Support delivery of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying within the portfolio
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align curriculum with 21st-century engineering needs
Key requirements
- PhD in Civil Engineering or significant equivalent academic recognition
- or Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution (ICE, IStructE, IHE, CIHT)
- expertise in civil engineering with emphasis on structural engineering or hydraulics
- ability to lead courses and contribute to teaching across multiple construction-related subjects
- experience with innovative, engaging teaching techniques that develop non-technical skills
