Overview

In this role you will lead the Structural Expert Witness practice within a London-based dispute resolution team. You will produce expert reports, provide testimony, and contribute to strategic direction of the technical advisory business. You will collaborate with a diverse group of experts and support business development to grow client relationships. This position offers a clear path to leadership, with development opportunities and exposure to high-profile projects. You will shape outcomes in design disputes and help scale the expert witness offering.

Responsibilities

  • Produce expert witness reports on structural engineering matters (building or civil)
  • Provide testimony and strategic design-advisory input for disputed projects
  • Help set strategy and manage the Technical Expert Witness business
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of experts and consultants
  • Drive business development and marketing to new and existing clients
  • Attend and contribute to seminars and industry events

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified and chartered in structural (building or civil) engineering
  • Ability to manage a small team of forensic structural engineers
  • Experience at senior management level within engineering or design consultancy
  • Proven experience across diverse project types and locations (building or civil sectors)
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and investigative capabilities
  • Strong report writing and English language skills
  • Positive relationship builder with high-profile clients
  • Exposure as an Expert Witness or familiarity with court processes is beneficial but not essential
