Overview
In this role you will support building safety initiatives within a multidisciplinary engineering team. You assess and report on structural safety for buildings, focusing on older constructions, with a emphasis on safety case support. You will conduct site visits, observations and provide written, actionable guidance to clients. Your work helps drive remedial decisions and competency checks across diverse sectors. This is a hands-on, field-inclusive position with opportunities to influence safety standards on varied projects.

Responsibilities
- conduct site visits and observations on building structures
- perform structural assessments and reviews
- develop recommendations and remedial guidance
- conduct forensic assessments and integrity/performance checks
- prepare written reports and advisory notes for safety cases
- evaluate buildings from the 1950s–1970s for safety issues
- coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- travel to sites as a core part of the role
Key requirements
- experience in structural design and safety assessments for buildings
- ability to visit sites and travel; valid driver and car
- experience with large panel systems is preferable
- eligibility to live and work in the UK
