Overview
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll lead the structural design and delivery across diverse markets, contributing to sustainable, innovative outcomes. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary Buildings + Places team to mentor junior engineers and uphold technical excellence. You’ll coordinate analysis, design documents, and compliance with Australian standards and NCC/BCA, while managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate structural design and delivery across multiple market sectors
- Prepare and review analysis, calculations, design reports, specifications and documentation
- Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA, and client requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve practical, sustainable design outcomes
- Manage project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and promote learning and innovation
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in structural engineering with focus on building structures
- Experience delivering structural design projects in a consulting environment
- Proficiency in SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT, Structural Toolkit
- Experience with SAP2000, RAM, IdeaStatiCa, and Grasshopper (favourable)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
