Overview

As a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer in Stantec’s Cardiff team, you will lead the design and delivery of complex infrastructure and building projects, balancing technical excellence with timely delivery. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary group to strengthen water networks, improve resilience to climate and environmental challenges, and modernise essential assets. You’ll mentor engineers, support business development, and help deliver sustainable communities. This role combines technical leadership with a clear impact on communities and infrastructure outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and management of complex infrastructure projects from concept to construction
• Guide technical design solutions across multidisciplinary teams
• Drive business development and client engagement to win and expand projects
• Mentor and develop junior engineers to foster technical excellence
• Support resilience, sustainability, and regulatory compliance in infrastructure design
• Collaborate to realise the client’s vision while maintaining high quality standards

Key requirements

• MEng or BEng in civil or structural engineering
• Chartered membership/ Associate membership of IStructE/ ICE OR working towards Chartership
• Significant experience in building structures design
