In this role you will lead structural design for diverse building projects, collaborating with Architects, Developers and Contractors to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions. You will own projects from concept to completion, mentor junior engineers, and maintain strong technical standards within a reputable consultancy. You’ll work across feasibility, detailed design, site inspections and client meetings, helping to drive delivery and client value. Responsibilities
- Own and coordinate structural designs from concept through to completion
- Mentor Graduate and Assistant Engineers
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and authorities
- Perform feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction information production
- Conduct site inspections and attend project meetings to ensure on-time delivery
- Ensure compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes and maintain high technical standards
Key requirements
- Proven experience designing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber
- Experience producing calculations, technical reports and construction information
- UK consultancy experience
- Proficiency with design software TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, MasterSeries or similar
- AutoCAD experience; Revit/BIM exposure advantageous
- Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
- Active Chartership with ICE or IStructE encouraged (or working towards)
- Ability to manage own workload and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams
