Senior Cloud Engineer – Farnborough

Overview

In this role you will design, deploy and manage secure, scalable cloud capabilities for mission-critical environments in a defence context. Responsibilities

• Building and configuring cloud services to meet business and application requirements
• Monitoring cloud environments for performance, availability, cost optimisation, and security compliance
• Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
• Automating deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
• Implementing and enforcing cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security
• Working closely with development, operations, and security teams to enable smooth application deployments

Key requirements

• Designing, deploying, and managing AWS solutions
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools
• Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, VPN, load balancers, firewalls, routing)
• Strong familiarity with AWS services
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
