Overview

As Senior Risk Manager, you will lead the EU-focused Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) implementation and ongoing operation to align expansions, products and Wise Platform partnerships with risk principles and governance. You will define and adapt partner onboarding and monitoring standards to stay resilient against emerging operational and financial risks and regulatory shifts. You will apply the Europe Risk Appetite, oversee risk assessments, KRIs, and risk reporting, and advise product teams to deliver features safely. You will engage with EU and group committees, regulators, and the Board to ensure effective risk governance and timely escalation when needed. This role offers significant影响

Responsibilities

  • Set and adapt standards for partner onboarding and ongoing monitoring with EU/regulatory alignment
  • Implement and tailor the ERM framework for the EU region across expansions and platform partners
  • Apply Europe Risk Appetite, conduct risk assessments, and manage KRI monitoring and reporting
  • Advise product teams to resolve issues and safely develop new features
  • Review and approve Risk Management (2LOD) policies for new branches and socialise for committee approval
  • Contribute to regulatory business plans with 2LOD input aligned to ERM framework
  • Develop understanding of products and controls, support first line on control metrics and outsourcing oversight
  • Present monitoring outcomes to committees, regulators, and the Board with timely incident/escalation updates
  • Provide regular updates on incidents, issues, KRIs, and risk changes to management

Key requirements

  • 6+ years in risk management for EU and/or UK financial services institutions
  • Strong knowledge of European and/or Belgian risk management frameworks and/or best practice
  • Subject matter expertise in EU regulation such as DORA, outsourcing and third-party risk management, safeguarding and data privacy
  • Experience implementing enterprise risk management programs for financial services
  • Experience aligning to risk taxonomy across operational, financial, and strategic risks
  • Understanding of systems, management information, and reporting systems
  • Track record of 2LOD independence and escalation
