Overview

In this role you will lead risk management activities within the Project Controls Team on high-profile infrastructure projects across energy, renewables, defence, rail and utilities. You will shape risk responses, monitor exposure against budgets, and communicate status to senior management. The position combines qualitative and quantitative risk work, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams to protect project value and schedule. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities, and issues
  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to support risk budgeting and timing
  • Develop and assess management responses that are measurable and specific
  • Monitor overall risk exposure against the remaining budget and project timeline
  • Create and deliver fit-for-purpose risk reports for senior management action
  • Apply quantitative risk assessment to inform contingency and time risk allowances
  • Demonstrate competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PRA or equivalents
  • Familiarity with web-based reporting tools: ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI

Key requirements

  • Integrated risk management across portfolios, programmes and projects
  • Risk and scenario analysis workshop facilitation
  • Proactive threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation
  • Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment including probabilistic modelling (@risk, PRA)
  • Broad understanding of Project Controls and risk interactions
  • Experience delivering risk on major projects or for blue-chip clients
  • Industry experience in energy, renewables, defence, rail or utilities (advantageous)
  • IRM / APM risk certification preferred
