Overview

As a Risk Manager in our London rail team, you will lead or support an integrated risk framework across a major capital programme. You’ll identify threats, opportunities and issues, profile risk costs, and inform investment planning. You’ll drive measurable risk responses, monitor exposure against the risk budget, and report on risk status. You’ll collaborate with contractors to align client-held and contractor-held risks, enabling proactive risk mitigation and clearer decision-making. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, opportunities and issues within the sub-programme
  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to support risk cost profiling and budget management
  • Inform investment planning using risk data
  • Identify and record measurable risk responses and assess post-mitigation positions
  • Monitor overall risk exposure against the remaining risk budget
  • Proactively manage completion of management responses to deliver target positions
  • Work with contractors to assess contractor-held risks and their views on client-held risks
  • Produce timely risk reports to communicate threat & opportunity status
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform contingency levels
  • Demonstrate competence with tools such as PRA, @risk, Safran; familiarity with ARM, Predict, Tableau

Key requirements

  • Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment across risk, cost and schedule on large programmes
  • Working understanding of an integrated risk management process
  • Risk workshop facilitation and threat mitigation
  • Probabilistic modelling experience (e.g., @risk, PRA, P6 or equivalent)
  • Proven risk delivery experience on major projects/programmes
  • APM/IRM risk certification preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Degree in a construction-related subject (preferred)
