Overview

In this role you drive risk management across a major offshore programme within Scotland’s Energy Delivery Unit. You’ll shape the risk strategy, lead risk identification and monitoring, and run risk workshops with cross‑functional teams. You will perform quantitative risk analyses (QCRA and QSRA) and support commercial decisions under NEC contracts. Your work will embed risk culture, align with the Customer, and enable informed project delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the risk management strategy and reporting cadence across the offshore programme
  • Lead identification, assessment, response and ongoing monitoring of project and programme risks
  • Facilitate risk workshops across multiple project packages
  • Perform QCRA and QSRA and risk modelling
  • Incorporate assumptions, dependencies and constraints into risk analysis and reporting
  • Support commercial teams with risk inputs for pricing, forecasting and NEC contracts
  • Provide guidance to Risk Owners on risk assessment and mitigation
  • Develop and deliver risk management training
  • Create Project Risk Management Plans for work packages
  • Produce risk reports for management and Customer
  • Coordinate with Customer risk management to align approaches
  • Collaborate with Balfour Beatty and subcontractors to manage risk
  • Embed risk management into project culture, processes and controls

Key requirements

  • Strong project/programme risk management experience in complex infrastructure or energy settings
  • Experience with QCRA and QSRA and quantitative risk analysis/modelling
  • Experience using risk management systems (e.g., Active Risk Manager or similar)
  • Good understanding of ERM processes, controls and methodologies
  • Experience working on large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge or experience of NEC contracts is advantageous
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Facilitation of risk workshops and delivery of training
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Excellent written and verbal reporting skills
  • Proactive, self-starting with good workload management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Degree-level qualification preferred
