As a Lift Installation Engineer at Schindler, you deliver high-quality lift and ancillary equipment installations and ensure precise handovers. You will work on-site across Bedfordshire, collaborating with customers and colleagues to meet safety and quality standards. The role focuses on installing and configuring traction, doors, frames, and ropes, followed by final checks and commissioning. Responsibilities
- Install lift and ancillary equipment per approved procedures using appropriate tools
- Install traction equipment including siting, assembly, fitting, alignment, and adjustment
- Install lift ropes and suspension components for new or reconstructed lifts
- Install lift doors and frames (manual, automatic, various types) with safety devices
- Check and set lift/escalator installations prior to final test and commissioning
- Conduct site surveys
- Keep supervisor informed of progress, hours, and non-compliances
- Maintain customer communication to ensure satisfaction
Key requirements
- NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift Installation or equivalent
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
- Advanced product and installation knowledge/experience
- Fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Ability to work independently with a flexible approach
- Good communication skills across client and internal stakeholders
- Manual dexterity for use of tools
- Full UK driving licence
