Overview

In this role, you will support electrical/electronic design and testing for X-Ray and Bond Test products, and maintain existing solutions. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to design electrical panels, PCBs, and wiring, while prototyping and validating electronics. You’ll help drive improvements across the product range and support electro-mechanical aspects of machinery. The work combines hands-on design with documentation and BOM management, within a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in design and layout of electrical support systems for X-Ray and Bond Test machinery
  • Design and document electrical panels, PCBs and general machine wiring
  • Provide basic mechanical design for electro-mechanical elements
  • Prototype electrical/electronic solutions and validate concepts
  • Specify, document and manage electrical bills of materials
  • Support and improve electrical design of existing product range

Key requirements

  • Degree level education or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Several years of experience designing electrical/electronic systems in an industrial setting
  • Experience in designing electromechanical systems (robotics, production automation)
  • Proven experience designing electrical panels for industrial systems (circuit breakers, contactors)
  • Experience specifying and designing wiring looms for electrical machinery
  • CAD experience (AutoCAD, Inventor, Cadstar)
  • Good practical electrical/electronic skills for prototyping/testing
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards (IEC61010, NPA79)
  • Team player with proactive problem-solving
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Flexibility in a changing environment
  • Willingness to travel (between Aylesbury & Colchester, occasional international)
