Overview
In this role you will deliver electrical design for rail and telecom projects in North London, taking work from concept through to detailed design. You will work within a project team aligned to a global infrastructure group, applying NR/GB standards and CDM requirements to ensure safe, compliant outcomes. You’ll develop 2D/3D drawings, perform cable calculations, and support client queries while contributing to risk assessments and project schedules. This is an opportunity to shape design solutions across diverse rail-related schemes in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical specifications across GRIP stages
- Review and check documentation
- Produce 2D/3D CAD drawings
- Complete cable calculations with supporting documents/drawings
- Assist with client technical queries
- Prepare risk assessments
- Produce project programmes with milestones
- Produce Work Package Plans and Task Briefs
- Prepare operation and maintenance manuals
- Conduct site surveys
- Attend client meetings
- IDC reviews as required by project
Key requirements
- Network Rail Standards, Railway Group Standards and CDM regulations knowledge
- Awareness of current British Standards
- Experience with Points Heating system design
- Contract Responsible Engineer duties under CDM & NR standards
- Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
- Membership of relevant professional body
- Proficiency with Bentley, Microstation v8i, ProjectWise, eB and Amtech
