Overview

As an HV Electrical Design Engineer in Ramboll’s Critical Systems team, you will design robust, efficient electrical systems for infrastructure and buildings with a focus on sustainability. You will collaborate with senior engineers to deliver compliant, innovative power solutions and support across the project lifecycle. You will integrate energy-efficient principles and participate in sustainability initiatives that align with Ramboll’s environmental goals. This role offers cross-disciplinary teamwork, client engagement, and impact on high-profile projects shaping sustainable infrastructure. Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for HV/LV power distribution, standby power, UPS, and earthing
  • Create drawings, specifications and calculations using ETAP and Revit; ensure regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams; stay updated on electrical engineering advancements
  • Incorporate sustainable design principles and pursue energy efficiency improvements
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to present concepts and progress; build strong relationships
  • Plan and manage projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to meet time and budget targets
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (HNC also acceptable with relevant experience)
  • Proven electrical design experience in power or building services
  • Proficiency in Revit; ETAP and Trimble software
  • Good understanding of UK building regulations, standards, and codes
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to sustainability and innovative design
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., IEng or working towards Chartership)
