In this role, you will support the Hinkley Point C project by delivering field surveillance to ensure works align with contract requirements and quality standards. You will work within a cross-functional team to identify non-conformances, report findings, and help keep construction progress on track. Your focus on QA, site communication, and formal design approvals will help mitigate risks and maintain safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Verify works are built to contract and escalate non-conformance requirements
- Submit non-conformance details to aid NCR issuance
- Communicate proactively with site teams and report surveillance promptly
- Contribute surveillance data to KPI indicators
- Identify potential quality issues early and propose mitigations
- Support temporary measures to maintain safety and quality
- Ensure design decisions are formally reviewed and approved
- Provide site activity perspectives to the team
- Ensure tasks meet health, safety and environment requirements
- Develop and maintain understanding of construction drawings, QC Plans and QC Records
- Ensure QIs are captured and agreed before works are covered up
- Review contractor performance against the authorised QC plan
Key requirements
- Broad knowledge of the building industry, materials, trades methods and legal requirements
- Excellent organisation, delegation and communication skills
- Proven diary-writing experience relevant to the contract form
- Experience in large construction teams
- HND in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Attention to detail in checking work and materials
- Ability to establish working relationships with contractors
- Persuasive and diplomatic while remaining independent
- Experience in installation/erection of large Civil Works and Mechanical or Electrical plant
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and drawing approvals processes
- Strong English communication; French language is an advantage
- Experience with electronic handheld devices to capture information
