GQA Technical Manager (AI)

Overview

In this role you lead global AI conformity and accreditation efforts to ensure AI products and processes comply with EU AI regulations and international standards. You will guide a cross‑functional team within BSI’s GQA unit, shaping policy and certification schemes while representing the company at AI forums. The position blends regulatory leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder engagement to enable trusted AI across markets. You will work with cross‑functional teams to drive conformity assessment activities at scale and impact.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AI notified body and AI certification body schemes globally under ISO17021/ISO17065/ISO17025 and applicable regulations
• Lead development and maintenance of conformity assessment activities to demonstrate AI technology compliance with EU AI Regulations and standards
• Ensure policies, procedures, and documentation meet AI regulatory obligations
• Maintain high expertise and rigour across NB, AI Services and AIMS personnel
• Provide policy input on AI technical management systems assessment and related certification schemes
• Represent BSI in AI events, forums, and working groups

Key requirements

• BSc in a discipline relevant to AI, Engineering, IT, Quality Assurance or equivalent
• At least four years post-graduate experience in conformity assessment, quality management, software development, quality policy/regulation, or standardization development; at least 1 year related to AI
• Experience in AI lifecycle and regulatory aspects of AI products
• Experience managing a team
