Overview
In this Engineering Manager role, you will lead and develop a large engineering team at Tata Steel’s Corby site to drive safety, reliability, and performance. You will align with COLT to implement maintenance excellence and asset integrity across the cold mill, workshops, and stores, while engaging cross-site networks. You’ll shape maintenance programs, coach engineers, and ensure KPIs and safety standards are met in a fast-paced, heavy industry environment. This role offers visibility in a transformed site and meaningful impact on plant uptime and safety culture.

Responsibilities
- Lead a skilled engineering team to uphold top safety standards for plant and site infrastructure
- Drive continuous safety and performance improvements across the site
- Provide engineering expertise to Manufacturing operations and support asset reliability initiatives
- Plan and manage PPM programmes and schedules
- Coach and mentor the engineering team towards excellence
- Occasionally participate in cross-site networking and face-to-face meetings
Key requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- 2+ years of delivering maintenance excellence programmes in heavy industry
- Degree in Engineering
- Chartered membership (or working towards)
- Experience leading a diverse team of 100+
- Solid understanding of management systems
- Strong IT literacy (MS Office)
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing KPIs, loss analysis and improvement metrics
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Solid knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
