Overview
In this role within the GPU Datapath team, you contribute to the design and evaluation of arithmetic hardware for cutting-edge GPU products (including the XE series). You will learn industry tools and in-house techniques, develop original ideas, and work towards patentable outcomes. You collaborate across Imagination to crystallise requirements and push silicon innovations. You plan your work and share knowledge with peers, shaping high-performance datapath components.
Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate hardware architectures for math-intensive blocks
- Contribute to development of XE GPUs and other products
- Extract and formalise requirements for arithmetic hardware blocks with cross-functional engineers
- Research new techniques for implementing mathematical operations in silicon
- Produce patentable work in a research and invention-focused environment
- Plan and schedule your own work and educate others on datapath designs
Key requirements
- Programming experience in SystemVerilog, VHDL, C++, Python, Tcl or shell
- Ability to envision and implement process improvements
- Strong written and spoken communication skills for clear technical discourse
