As Civil Engineer, you contribute to UK water-sector projects that improve environment and communities. You will deliver civil, hydraulic, and structural designs across feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning, working with cross-functional teams to achieve sustainable outcomes. Responsibilities
- Prepare outline and detailed civil engineering designs and calculations (civil, hydraulic, structural)
- Produce technical and commercial specifications, design reports and schedules
- Develop and mark up models and drawings
- Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop practical and safe solutions across design, construction, commissioning and operation
- Consider whole-life carbon and circular economy in designs for sustainability
- Conduct site and asset surveys to inform design requirements
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Geotechnical and Structural designers to ensure on-programme, within-budget, quality designs
- Manage interfaces and integration of civil design with other disciplines
- Engage with the client and adopt a one-team approach to supporting their aims
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field
- Working towards IEng / CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution
- Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
- Methodical problem-solving approach
- A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region
