Overview

In this role you will contribute to a UK DRI–funded project at Imperial that investigates how a TSPO ligand protects cerebrovascular function in early Alzheimer’s disease. You will work within a cross-disciplinary team spanning cardiovascular and dementia research, and you will collect and analyze human neuroimaging and neurophysiological data. The position emphasizes collaboration, career development, and open science, with access to world‑leading facilities and international networks. Responsibilities

  • Collect and manage data from human participants using EEG and MRI
  • Acquire and process neurophysiological and neuroimaging data
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team and clinical study participants
  • Handle large-scale neural datasets with MATLAB
  • Contribute to publications and data-sharing initiatives
  • Collaborate with supervisors for scientific development and career progression

Key requirements

  • PhD in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, physics, cellular biology or related field (near completion acceptable)
  • Experience acquiring human neurophysiological or neuroimaging data (EEG, MRI, or both)
  • Experience working directly with research participants
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and handling large-scale neural datasets
  • Developing publication record with at least one first-author manuscript
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
