Overview
In this role you will join the PMO Yorkshire Northeast as part of the Project Controls team, supporting planning, scheduling, performance reporting and risk management on major infrastructure programmes. You will collaborate with cost and planning engineers to establish baselines, monitor progress and costs, and deliver insightful reports and recommendations to clients. The role offers regional travel and a path toward leadership within a values-driven, collaborative firm. You will work on diverse sectors and use your expertise to tailor solutions for unique client needs, with strong development support.
Responsibilities
- Develop work breakdown structures and robust performance baselines with cost/plan alignment
- Establish progress and cost monitoring methods and produce control reports
- Provide performance analysis and client-facing recommendations
- Monitor schedules and control baselines; run planning workshops and data collection
- Evaluate project status and escalate issues as needed
- Support Earned Value, Change & Risk Management in a project controls context
Key requirements
- Experience in a project controls environment within infrastructure (Energy, Defence, Rail, Airports, Highways, Water/Utilities)
- Experience in Programme Controls Management, Earned Value (EVM), Change & Risk Management, Planning, PMO or Project Controls
- Graduate in a relevant discipline with some project control experience
- Experience using Primavera P6, Power BI, Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team, with strong time management and deadline discipline
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of best practice planning principles; technical competence in schedule construction
- Assurance reviews and high-quality scheduling evidenced by tools like Primavera Schedlog, Acumen Fuse, DCMA 14 Point Checklist
