Overview

In this role you will support URBN’s retail expansion and operations across Europe as a Real Estate Legal Counsel. You’ll manage the real estate portfolio and lease negotiations, while advising on ecommerce, data protection, and consumer-compliance matters. You work closely with cross-functional teams and external counsel to deliver practical legal solutions that enable growth. The position combines frontline legal advisory with template development and risk management, in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage real estate portfolio and lease negotiations across Europe
  • Draft wayleave agreements, leases, deeds of variation, and licenses; track break and expiry dates; liaise with agents and landlords
  • Draft and advise on online terms, privacy policies, cookies policy, and ecommerce contracts (data processing, outsourcing, payment solutions)
  • Advise on data protection law; monitor developments; support customer service and escalated regulatory issues
  • Negotiate and draft commercial contracts (concession, marketing, wholesale, agency, partnerships, influencer) and 3rd party logistics contracts; assist distribution centre queries
  • Assist Director of Legal with contentious matters; develop precedents and templates; deliver training and legal updates to the business
  • Liaise with outside counsel; deputise for Director of Legal when necessary
  • Perform and support other legal department tasks as needed

Key requirements

  • 4-8 years PQE in real estate; retail/fashion experience preferred
  • Top-tier academic credentials; completed Training Contract in Real Estate or Commercial
  • Excellent writing and public speaking skills
  • Strong legal research, negotiation, analysis, communication, and organizational abilities
