Overview
In this role you will lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater projects within a design-and-build framework. You’ll coordinate a multi‑disciplinary team to move from outline to detailed design, construction, and handover, while supporting career development and chartership. You’ll operate in a collaborative, on-site, home/office/setup, shaping innovative and affordable solutions for South West Water frameworks. Responsibilities
- Lead design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning and handover
- Coordinate civil, electrical, mechanical, process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists to meet programme, budget, and quality targets
- Undertake design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues
- Build strong relationships with the client’s project, operational and technical assurance teams to promote a one-team approach
- Work within a project triangle with Site Manager and Quantity Surveyor to balance technical, constructability, and commercial considerations
Key requirements
- Accredited Degree in Civil Engineering
- Incorporated Member of Engineering Institution
- Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects
- Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015
