Overview
In this role you will support the Development Portfolio Management Team by analysing and modelling development investments across a portfolio of renewable projects. You will build financial models, evaluate returns, and prepare materials for ICs, boards, and stakeholders. You will liaise with portfolio company leadership and internal experts to challenge assumptions and maintain disciplined governance. The role offers exposure to portfolio-wide decision making, development milestones, and potential bolt-on opportunities as you grow investment judgement. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models for development platforms and project portfolios, evaluating IRR, downside scenarios, and capital needs
- Assess development economics including timelines, capacity, grid connectivity, permitting, and route-to-market impacts on returns
- Prepare IC papers and rationale for project funding, platform acquisitions, restructurings, and exits
- Coordinate with portfolio company leadership and internal specialists to align on investment cases
- Monitor operational and financial performance of portfolio companies against plans
- Track development milestones through gates (land, grid, permitting, RTB, NTP, construction)
- Review development expenditure and shareholder funding requests across projects
- Rigourously challenge timing, cost assumptions to decide funding, pause, restructure, or sell
- Provide governance materials and valuation models for exits or transfers into operational structures
- Manage quarterly platform performance reporting and explain value movements
- Maintain portfolio valuations and explain movements in relation to delivery and market conditions
Key requirements
- Experience in private equity, infrastructure investment, renewable energy investment, investment banking, corporate finance or similar investment-led environments
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and investment-analysis skills
- Experience preparing investment committee, transaction, or board materials
- Good understanding of investment returns, capital allocation, risk assessment and value creation
- Ability to analyse complex information and form clear, commercially grounded recommendations
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage several workstreams and deadlines across multiple investments
- High attention to detail without losing sight of wider investment rationale
