TheRole
AsToolingEngineer,you’llberesponsibleformanagingexternallyheldproductiontooling,ensuringitdeliversconsistentquality,reliabilityandperformance.Workingcloselywithsuppliers,engineering,qualityandoperations,you’llplayakeyroleinintroducingnewtooling,supportingengineeringchangesandimprovingmanufacturingcapability.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Managethefulllifecycleofsupplier-ownedproductiontooling.
- LeadtheintroductionandvalidationofnewtoolingforNewProductIntroduction(NPI)projects.
- Workcloselywithsupplierstoimprovetoolingperformance,reliabilityandquality.
- Conductsuppliervisits,toolingreviewsandtechnicalaudits.
- Supportengineeringchangeactivities(ECNs/ECRs)ensuringtoolingremainsproduction-ready.
- Driverootcauseanalysisandimplementpermanentcorrectiveactionsfortooling-relatedissues.
- Monitortoolingperformance,cycletimesandqualitymetrics.
- ReviewtoolingcostsandsupportinvestmentdecisionsthroughROIanalysis.
- CollaboratewithEngineering,Quality,ProcurementandSupplyChainteamstodeliverrobustmanufacturingsolutions.
- Supportsupplierdevelopmentandcontinuousimprovementinitiatives.
