Overview

In this role you will design, implement and support automated and manual test solutions for electronic assemblies, helping transfer products from development into production. You’ll collaborate with external suppliers and internal teams to shape robust tests and optimise manufacture-ready solutions. This hands-on, on-site role sits in a manufacturing environment with global impact, offering ownership of test strategy and lifecycle support. You will work on NPI and production ramp, applying your electronics testing expertise to scale and improve reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain automated and manual test solutions for electronic assemblies and systems
  • Own test solution development with external partners, translating requirements into robust production tests
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to meet cost, size, complexity and manufacturability targets
  • Write, read, modify and debug test software (C++, C# and/or Python)
  • Provide technical project management, leading discussions across engineering, manufacturing and external partners
  • Support transfer of products into production, including test validation and ramp-up
  • Collaborate with electronics stakeholders and manufacturing teams, especially PCBA test
  • Analyse production test data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Improve test efficiency, coverage, reliability and throughput
  • Support installation of test solutions within the global supply base
  • Occasional travel to global manufacturing sites (1–2 trips per year)

Key requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Strong experience developing test solutions for electronics and PCBAs
  • Experience with NPI / NPD and transferring products into manufacturing
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing requirements and production environments
  • Ability to work with automated test equipment (ATE) and electronic instrumentation
  • Software skills in C++, C#, and/or Python with ability to read and adapt existing code
  • Experience working with subcontract manufacturers and external suppliers
  • Confident communicator able to lead technical discussions across disciplines
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on workshop and office manufacturing environment
