As a Principal Process Engineer at Stantec, you lead technical delivery across water and wastewater projects, shaping robust process solutions and mentoring engineers. Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of process engineering solutions across water and wastewater projects
- Develop, review and assure process designs, calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments, treatment evaluations and technical specifications
- Provide technical direction to project teams to ensure practical and client-aligned outcomes
- Lead complex projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support
- Support asset optimisation, site investigations and technical testing as required
- Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and environmental specialists for integrated solutions
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and translate challenges into engineering outcomes
- Contribute to investment programmes, bids and framework opportunities across the UK water sector
- Mentor and develop engineers to strengthen the Process Engineering team
- Champion innovation, best practice and continuous improvement in process engineering delivery
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Chemical or Process Engineering or a related discipline
- Significant experience in process engineering within water, wastewater, utilities or related sectors
- Strong technical experience across process design, calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and treatment process evaluation
- Proven experience providing technical leadership across complex multidisciplinary projects
- Strong understanding of water and/or wastewater treatment processes and UK industry requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers and providing technical guidance to colleagues
- Ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to successful delivery of complex projects
