Overview

As an expert Architect, you will define the end-to-end target architecture for a large, diverse engineering program, guiding data ecosystems, AI integration, and secure multi-cloud deployments. You will partner with senior stakeholders to translate strategy into scalable, resilient systems and establish architectural governance. This role blends hands-on prototyping with strategic oversight to maintain coherence across a heterogeneous tech stack. You’ll shape the AI roadmap and ensure designs meet regulatory and performance standards, delivering measurable impact at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the target state architecture across diverse systems, data platforms, and cloud integrations
  • Publish and maintain architectural blueprints, design patterns, and engineering standards
  • Lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to ensure designs meet non-functional requirements (NFRs) like scalability, security, and performance
  • Lead the AI architecture roadmap and governance for AI/ML integration into products
  • Foster AI-driven developer productivity and scalable data pipelines (MLOps/LLMOps) for model training and inference
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Principal Engineers and Tech Leads across domains
  • Ensure architectural coherence across a diverse stack while balancing standardization with agile delivery
  • Own technical debt strategies and long-term platform health
  • Lead investigations into performance issues and incidents; prototype PoCs for new AI tools or cloud services
  • Collaborate with business leadership to translate commercial objectives into technical roadmaps
  • Architect solutions in a broadly evolving, heterogeneous technology landscape

Key requirements

  • 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years as Principal or Senior Architect for large-scale distributed systems
  • Advanced data architecture with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and large-scale data processing (Data Mesh/Lakehouse)
  • Strong data integration and relational platforms experience
  • Proven ability to design highly available Hybrid/Multi-Cloud architectures (Azure & AWS)
  • Experience designing architectures that support AI/ML workloads, including LLMs, predictive analytics, and vector search
  • Deep governance and security understanding for regulated financial services environments
  • Strong SRE mindset with observability and cloud-native resilience patterns
  • Exceptional stakeholder and cross-functional leadership capable of engaging executives
  • Hands-on R&D involvement: PoCs and prototype coding to validate architectural assumptions
