Shift Engineer

Overview

As Shift Engineer you will deliver planned and reactive maintenance on a high-profile site to optimize building systems, energy performance, and safety compliance. You’ll work within the facilities team to ensure reliable operation and continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical plant. The role blends hands-on maintenance with monitoring and problem-solving to support a premium automotive environment. Your work will contribute to efficient, safe, and sustainable site operations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to help desk tasks (planned and reactive) within set timeframes with proper reporting and handover
• Perform first-line maintenance on key plant including pumps, motors, drives, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs, and SCADA systems
• Monitor and optimise building systems to improve efficiency and sustainability
• Operate building services in compliance with site procedures and statutory regulations
• Occasional event coverage paid as overtime outside shift pattern
• Occasionally support other sites as required

Key requirements

• Proven experience in electrical/ facilities maintenance
• Up-to-date electrical qualifications and knowledge of regulations
• IOSH Working Safely certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work within a continental shift rota
