Overview

As a Shift Process Engineer you will own the MOCVD epitaxy process on a continental shift, enabling reliable production of photonic devices. You work within the Epitaxy Process Engineering team to support technicians, set up processes, and analyze outcomes to drive improved yield and efficiency. You’ll navigate a cleanroom environment and complex PC-based systems, logging data and communicating with cross-functional teams. Your work directly contributes to product quality and manufacturing performance in a fast-growing, customer-focused organization. This role offers hands-on impact, rapid development, and a clear pathway to broader technical ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust and operate complex computer-controlled equipment for epitaxy production
  • Characterize, log data and interpret material data for MOCVD process
  • Coordinate work-area activities across Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering and Facilities
  • Provide first-line support for unexpected or out-of-spec events and maintain equipment checklists
  • Support performance reporting, workload planning and meeting team targets
  • Adhere to safety and environmental procedures and participate in handovers and information exchanges

Key requirements

  • 3 years of related experience or a degree (or equivalent) in engineering or scientific discipline
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a team and under pressure
  • Capable PC user with Microsoft Office
  • Meticulous attention to detail and reliable attendance
