Senior Civil Engineer

Overview

In this role you will shape civil design across water and wastewater projects from concept through commissioning. You’ll collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to deliver practical, compliant solutions. You will engage with clients to support aims in a one-team approach and drive buildable, integrated designs. This is an opportunity to contribute to essential infrastructure while developing toward chartership within a growing regional practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide design support and ensure designs meet current legislation and standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop efficient, practical, and safe solutions at design, construction, and post-construction stages
• Manage client relationships and promote a one-team approach to help them achieve aims
• Coordinate civil design interfaces with other disciplines and prepare integrated documentation
• Act as technical checker and conduct design reviews across projects
• Identify process improvements including standard designs, sustainable solutions, and use of digital tools
• Conduct site reviews to verify buildability and integration with existing systems
• Support development of the civil engineering team through coaching and mentoring
• Oversee projects to ensure high-quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards
• Travel to sites across the operational region as required

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution
• Experience delivering high-quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the region
• Water/wastewater experience
