Legal Counsel (eCommerce – Product), London

Overview

As a Midlevel Lawyer, you lead EU/UK compliance initiatives to support TikTok’s eCommerce operations. You’ll partner with product, engineering, and business teams to navigate DSA, DMA, GDPR, and national laws, ensuring lawful product features and data practices. You’ll influence policy alignment, data governance, and market launches, enabling safe growth across Europe. This role places you at the crossroad of legal risk management and scalable, practical solutions in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work with global teams to shape responsible, compliant digital commerce.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal contact for EU/UK clients, collaborating with product, engineering, and business teams
• Coordinate with regulatory, privacy, IP, and competition teams to provide unified legal guidance
• Deliver clear, actionable legal opinions to support rapid growth while balancing risk
• Lead legal reviews of product features and data usage under EU and national laws
• Partner with public policy to address legal risks for high-impact projects
• Maintain and update online terms and conditions in local EU languages
• Improve legal processes, templates, and internal training to boost efficiency

Key requirements

• Midlevel lawyer qualified in France, Italy, Poland or Spain
• Strong experience in EU legislation with focus on consumer protection, privacy, antitrust, or IP
• Proven drafting and negotiation experience in retail, digital content, and advertising agreements
• Excellent communication and ability to distill complex issues into actionable guidance
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
