Overview

As Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead the QA team to uphold and continually improve quality, food safety, and technical standards across the site. You will partner with Technical, Supply Chain and operations to ensure all products meet safety and quality expectations and comply with food safety regulations, including BRCGS. You’ll drive standardisation, traceability, and performance, shaping a culture where quality is at the heart of operations. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on people development and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Quality team, including rotas and coverage
  • Mentor, coach, and train team members; identify upskilling opportunities
  • Maintain and improve QA procedures, records, and site standards
  • Ensure products meet safety, quality, and legal standards before leaving site
  • Create/maintain internal product specifications and support supplier specs
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Ops to balance cost-efficiency with quality
  • Make balanced decisions on product handling considering customers and business needs
  • Support Technical on BRCGS compliance and act as HACCP team member
  • Contribute to HACCP reviews, risk assessments, and audits
  • Support internal and third-party audit activity

Key requirements

  • Experience in implementing and maintaining technical standards in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience with BRCGS or similar third‑party standard
  • Experience coordinating HACCP in food manufacturing
  • Level 3/4 HACCP (or equivalent) training; Level 4 preferred
  • Experience auditing products against internal and third‑party standards
  • Strong understanding of food safety, quality, legality and traceability
  • Experience supervising a small team
  • Confident leader; motivates and develops others
  • Strong communicator; builds relationships at all levels
  • Collaborative across Technical, Operations, and Supply Chain
  • Quality management in food manufacturing
  • BRCGS compliance and HACCP implementation
  • Product specification management and traceability
