Overview
In this role you will lead and safeguard the company’s quality management framework, ensuring key certifications and regulatory compliance across a regulated manufacturing environment. You will guide the Quality and Inspection function in collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Production and Commercial teams to ensure products and processes meet customer and regulatory expectations. You will champion continuous improvement and quality discipline to support high-profile energy sector projects and organizational objectives. This is a strategic, hands-on role with a clear impact on product quality, process control and KPIs.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the quality management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EN ISO 3834, EN 1090)
- Lead external audits and internal certifications, ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements
- Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement across the business
- Manage quality metrics (RFT, NCRs, COPQ, OTIF, supplier quality, customer complaints) and implement improvements
- Develop and maintain PFMEAs and Control Plans; support new product introduction and risk management
- Oversee inspection, testing, product release, and calibration systems; ensure traceability of measuring equipment
- Act as main quality contact for customers and suppliers; lead quality investigations and timely resolution of issues
- Lead, coach, and develop the Quality and Inspection team; promote a culture of quality excellence
- Ensure regulatory compliance for nuclear and other highly regulated sectors (RCC-M, weld quality, traceability)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive quality engineering activities
Key requirements
- Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001 or equivalent)
- Experience in a quality management leadership role
- Proven experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong background in sheet metal fabrication, welding, precision engineering or related sectors
- Experience maintaining ISO 9001 certification and managing audits
- Experience leading quality improvement programmes and reducing non-conformance
- Experience in PFMEA and Control Plans
- Experience in calibration management systems
- Experience overseeing quality and inspection teams
- Proven track record of improving business KPI performance
- Knowledge of welding quality systems and special process control (preferred)
- Nuclear industry experience or familiarity with RCC-M/EN ISO 3834/EN 1090 (preferred)
- Formal Six Sigma, Lean or CI qualifications (preferred)
- Chartered Quality Professional status or CQI membership (preferred)
