Overview
As a Lecturer/Associate Professor, you will build and lead an AI-driven research and teaching programme in biomolecular design within SMB at UCL. You will advance computational approaches that model biomolecular interactions and enable design of molecules and networks, while contributing to cross-disciplinary collaboration with experimentalists. You will teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and help shape the centre’s strategic direction and impact. This role offers the chance to influence life sciences through AI-enabled discovery, education, and translational collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an AI-driven research and teaching programme in biomolecular design and interactions
- Conduct teaching and training for undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Contribute to the cross-division MRes AI for Bioscience and related teaching activities
- Establish or expand internationally competitive research with integration of structural biology, biophysics, and machine learning
- Foster collaborations between experimentalists and theoreticians within SMB
- Build partnerships, attract research funding, and contribute to departmental impact
Key requirements
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field
- Innovative research agenda in AI for biomolecular design and interactions
- Track record or potential in computational biology applied to molecular systems
- Experience in research-led teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
- Interdisciplinary collaboration, external engagement, and translational impact
- Ability to build collaborations and contributions to an inclusive academic environment
