Service Engineer

Overview

As a Garage Equipment Engineer/Surveyor, you will service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic garage equipment across UK sites, including vehicle lifts and MOT gear. You work both independently and within a team to deliver reliable maintenance and timely fault resolution. The role involves travel, occasional overnight stays, and proactive planning of parts and tools. You’ll contribute to safe, efficient garage operations and support cross-site service delivery. This opportunity combines hands-on technical work with progression and ongoing training in a respected automotive group.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic garage equipment on customer sites
• Diagnose faults and perform planned preventative maintenance on ramps, lifts, compressors, and MOT equipment
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely
• Ensure van stock levels of parts and tools are sufficient
• Collaborate with other engineers and service controllers

Key requirements

• Experience in a field-based garage equipment maintenance role
• High level of organisation and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• Ability to work well within a team
